Why These Courses?
The students have a wide variety of options to choose from post completion of either of the above-mentioned programmes. Students can seek admission in many interdisciplinary post-graduate courses like M.Sc. and PhD degrees and other research work in many reputed institutions all over India and rest of the world.
Advantages of the Courses :
1) Bachelor of science stimulates curiosity and promotes scientific discovery.
2) Learning of science develops the power of observation, logical thinking, and scientific attitude.
3) It prepares the candidates for increasingly inter and multi-disciplinary careers in the field of science.
4) Graduates in science are not confined to just science-based fields. They can work in a wide variety of non-scientific areas too.
Besides the scientific sector jobs, Science graduates can get employed in non-scientific sectors too. However, little training is required to work in these fields. B.Sc. holders can work in the relevant fields in Science and Technology, in which they are specialized. They can seek out careers in research laboratories, Government corporations, banking, and finance sector, and so on. Apart from this, science graduates can also find jobs in IT industry, business, BPO, marketing, technical writing, and so on. After the successful completion of either of the programs, one can apply for all graduate-level jobs offered by public sector firms, government departments, etc.. M.Sc. degree in the respective field will definitely improve the chances to get into a much rewarding job. The degree will be helpful to find good career options in education/research field too.

Laboratories (for B.Sc. Programmes) – A Place for ’LEARNING BY DOING’.
Science Laboratory
Science is a practical subject, teaching of which cannot be done properly only in theory form. For proper education in science, it is necessary to conduct various kinds of experimental works, which are practical in nature. Students learn to handle various apparatuses and think independently in the laboratory. It also develops the spirit of Teamwork. When students perform various kinds of experiments, they draw conclusions from their studies, which raises their level of self-confidence and develop a scientific attitude among them.
“TO LEARN SCIENCE IS TO DO SCIENCE. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY OF LEARNING SCIENCE.”
–DR. D. S. KOTHARI
Zoology Lab at GCMT provides scientific study of the animal kingdom, along with its evolution, diversity and environment. It is well equipped withall necessary facilities for higher studies. Some important practicals covered during the session are Dissection of Animal ,Permanent slide preparation, cytological experiments, Study of bones, pests, insects ,nematodes & edible fishes & parasites , counting of blood cells, study of ecosystem , immunology, biotechnology. The laboratory has a good arrangement of equipment like Microscope, Haemoglobinometer, pH meter, Calorimeter, Colorimeter, Haemocytometer, Centrifuge, Incubator, Microtome, etc…
Botany Lab at GCMT provides specimens, microscopes, permanent slides, latest method of physiological experiment, Genetics, section cutting of plants, demonstration, dissection, etc .. Botany lab is well equipped for undergraduate students to perform various botany practicals which are necessary for the study of the structure, properties, and biochemical processes of all forms of plant life, as well as plant classification, plant diseases, and the interactions of plants with their physical environment.
