Bachelor of Science (ZBC & PCM)
Bachelor of Science is a degree course designed to develop graduates with the key practical skills and interdisciplinary knowledge. The students are involved in completing well prepared lab work based on textbooks and reading along with adapting to the famous theories.
G.C.M.T. provides an excellent pedagogical ambiance to all the aspiring students pursuing their career in B.Sc. ZBC / PCM / Biotechnology stream. The course exposes the student to the theoretical and the experimental aspects of the subject, pertaining to the physical, biological, and chemical sciences.
1) Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) — ZBC (Zoology, Botany, Chemistry)
The aim of this course is to provide the students a broad overview & appreciation of diverse animal and plant kingdom, explore the physical, morphological & physiological characteristics of flora & fauna and develop an understanding chemical combinations.
2) Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) —PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
The concerned course aims at enhancing the reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills of the students. B.Sc. with PCM stream will provide you the core knowledge of science and fetch the opportunities in distinguished fields of science & technology. Core knowledge of science is the only way to occupy leading positions in Research Institutes and Industrial Laboratories.
Why These Courses?
The students have a wide variety of options to choose from post completion of either of the above-mentioned programmes. Students can seek admission in many interdisciplinary post-graduate courses like M.Sc. and PhD degrees and other research work in many reputed institutions all over India and rest of the world.
Advantages of the Courses :
1) Bachelor of science stimulates curiosity and promotes scientific discovery.
2) Learning of science develops the power of observation, logical thinking, and scientific attitude.
3) It prepares the candidates for increasingly inter and multi-disciplinary careers in the field of science.
4) Graduates in science are not confined to just science-based fields. They can work in a wide variety of non-scientific areas too.
Bachelor of Science Jobs
Besides the scientific sector jobs, Science graduates can get employed in non-scientific sectors too. However, little training is required to work in these fields. B.Sc. holders can work in the relevant fields in Science and Technology, in which they are specialized. They can seek out careers in research laboratories, Government corporations, banking, and finance sector, and so on. Apart from this, science graduates can also find jobs in IT industry, business, BPO, marketing, technical writing, and so on. After the successful completion of either of the programs, one can apply for all graduate-level jobs offered by public sector firms, government departments, etc.. M.Sc. degree in the respective field will definitely improve the chances to get into a much rewarding job. The degree will be helpful to find good career options in education/research field too.

Laboratories (for B.Sc. Programmes) – A Place for ’LEARNING BY DOING’.
Science is a practical subject, teaching of which cannot be done properly only in theory form. For proper education in science, it is necessary to conduct various kinds of experimental works, which are practical in nature. Students learn to handle various apparatuses and think independently in the laboratory. It also develops the spirit of Teamwork. When students perform various kinds of experiments, they draw conclusions from their studies, which raises their level of self-confidence and develop a scientific attitude among them.
“TO LEARN SCIENCE IS TO DO SCIENCE. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY OF LEARNING SCIENCE.”

“I HEAR , I FORGET. I SEE , I REMEMBER. I DO , I KNOW.”
Zoology Lab at GCMT provides scientific study of the animal kingdom, along with its evolution, diversity and environment. It is well equipped with all necessary facilities for higher studies. Some important practicals covered during the session are Dissection of Animal ,Permanent slide preparation, cytological experiments, Study of bones, pests, insects ,nematodes & edible fishes & parasites , counting of blood cells, study of ecosystem , immunology, biotechnology. The laboratory has a good arrangement of equipment like Microscope, Haemoglobinometer, pH meter, Calorimeter, Colorimeter, Haemocytometer, Centrifuge, Incubator, Microtome, etc…
Botany Lab at GCMT provides specimens, microscopes, permanent slides, latest method of physiological experiment, Genetics, section cutting of plants, demonstration, dissection, etc .. Botany lab is well equipped for undergraduate students to perform various botany practicals which are necessary for the study of the structure, properties, and biochemical processes of all forms of plant life, as well as plant classification, plant diseases, and the interactions of plants with their physical environment.
Chemistry Lab is designed to support and illustrate chemical concepts studied in the lecture portion of the programme, as well as to introduce important laboratory techniques and encourage analytical thinking. Besides the concepts covered in lecture, the laboratory portion of the course will present some additional chemistry, both theoretical and practical. The laboratory is equipped with most advanced instruments such as Chromatographic column, Electric balance, and Chemical balance, etc… For safety purpose, there are all arrangements like fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc…
